The short version
AIWebApp is a static website. The builder, planner, templates, validator, preview and ZIP export all run in your browser. Your prompts and projects are never uploaded. Projects are stored in IndexedDB on this device until you delete them.
An on-device language model is optional and off by default. When enabled, it runs on your GPU through WebGPU after downloading public weights. If your device cannot run it, the template path still does everything else.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. There are no server routes that receive project content. The only network requests are for the site’s own files and, if you opt in, the model runtime and weights.
How long are projects kept?
Until you delete them or clear site data. Browsers may evict storage under pressure, especially in private windows — export important work.
Why can’t generated apps have logins?
Authentication needs a server to verify identities and keep secrets. A static app can only pretend, so the planner marks it UNSUPPORTED instead.
What do the labels NATIVE, APPROX, EXPLAIN and UNSUPPORTED mean?
NATIVE uses standard browser APIs. MODEL needs the optional on-device AI. APPROX is a best effort with stated limits. EXPLAIN means we explain it but do not generate it. UNSUPPORTED cannot work in a static, client-only app.
Can I use it offline?
After the site has loaded once, a service worker keeps its own files cached so the builder opens without a connection. Model weights are cached separately by the browser after their first download.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The builder is responsive down to 360px. On-device AI usually needs a desktop-class GPU.
Are there ads?
There may be clearly separated ad slots outside the editor area. They never cover the tool and never receive your project content.
How do I delete everything?
Open the Versions tab and use “Delete all local data”, which asks for confirmation. You can also clear this site’s data in browser settings.
